Taking Responsibility for Feeling Inspired

The world is not an inherently inspiring place. Not inherently. In fact, it can often be the opposite. So, if you want to live a life of contribution and leave a positive mark on the planet with your life, what works is to take responsibility for inspiring yourself.

One of the ways I do this is by creating “operative practices” that consistently inspire me to continue showing up. This doesn’t mean I force myself to slap inauthentic happy faces on the shitty circumstances of the planet. It does mean I give myself what I need to be able to create in the world from my highest commitment and not just in reaction to the fluctuations of the day.

❤️ Here are some of mine. ❤️

1) Move my body! A LOT!

2) Keep a file of inspiring quotes.

3) Watch the X_Factor Golden Buzzer moments on Youtube. Try it! I cry tears of joy every time!

4) Review previous vision boards that I’ve made.

5) Repeat affirmations and declarations that remind me of who I am and what I’m committed to.

6) Call a friend and tell them what I like about them!

The morning time is a great time to practice these types of things to cause yourself to show up and be truly inspired in your life, to remember that something is possible beyond your current circumstances.
